DIY Seesaw

With an old tire and a few pieces of wood you can turn what would be trash into an awesome DIY gift for any kiddo! The hardest part of this project is cutting the tire in half! My husband used a reciprocating saw, and be sure to have a metal blade on hand.

The metal pieces you see in the picture above are what make the tire cutting process a little tricky. It will take you about 1 hour to cut the tire in half with the right tools, and you can now make 2 seesaws!

Once it is cut in half, cut 2 pieces of wood to fit inside the tire to use as braces. Then screw your bench to the top of the bases. Our seesaw bench is actually made out of an closet shelf we had leftover from a closet renovation! This is truly a 100% up-cycle project for us, well except for the purchase of 2 new handles for the top of the seesaw.
Once you seesaw is put together, it is time to make it your own! Paint, adhesive vinyl, or even just a seal of the wood are all great ideas!
